For better or worse in 2023: WR George Pickens

Last season the Pittsburgh Steelers got themselves a bargain when they landed former Georgia wide receiver George Pickens in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft.

It didn’t take long for Pickens to establish himself as a sticky-handed, big-play receiver who was good for one highlight-reel catch a game. For as raw as Pickens was as a player, he still found a way to lead the Steelers in receiving touchdowns with four and yards per reception at 15.4.

Pickens was also second on the team in receiving yards and third on the team in receptions. This was all with fellow rookie Kenny Pickett running the offense. Pickett and Pickens have a year together now and with a full training camp coming up. is the sky the limit for Pickens?

Maybe.

Pickens statistical potential could be capped based on a number of factors. First is the Steelers offense. This is a team that found its groove running the ball late last season and might want to ride that into 2023. Second, if the Steelers do turn to the passing attack, there are a lot of guys out there looking for targets aside from Pickens.

Cast your vote and tell us if you think Pickens will be better in 2023 or could he take a step back?
