A post on social media by the man's niece said: "My uncle had a heart attack at Hampden yesterday just before the game. (I never found out till near the end of the game). Can I just thank everyone who helped him, did CPR, got the defibrillator, and waited with him until the ambulance came, you helped save his life. A massive thank you."
Luckily the post found one of the men who were able to help.
He explained how he was "so relieved" to hear that the man is now in hospital.
His post read: "I was walking the opposite way from your uncle and saw him go down. I went over and got him off the kerb onto the flat road and into the recovery position and made sure his airways were clear.
"Guys helped me, other fans raced to get an ambulance/paramedic and some put their jackets and scarves under his head for support. Was getting close to having to do CPR myself but thankfully a policewoman came and took over the situation.
"I'm so relieved your uncle is recovering as I'll admit to fearing the worst."
Hundreds of people have sent their well wishes to the man involved while expressing their relief that he survived.
The Celtic fan was even able to message into the thread to thank everyone for their comments.
