FOOTAGE on social media has shown people enjoying a brilliant St Andrew’s Day ceilidh in a Scottish town.
A number of people shared videos on Twitter/X of people in the town enjoying a giant ceilidh – with similar footage of the town also going viral last year.
Writing on social media, adviser to John Swinney Olaf Stando said: “Happy St Andrew’s Day everyone, from St Andrews.

“No better way to spend it than a ceilidh street party.”
The event was part of this year’s Big Hoolie which, unlike last year, fell on St Andrew’s Day this year.
Many others also shared their own footage with one joking they were being “thrown around like a lunatic” but that they were “loving it” at the event.
Independent councillor for the Bannockburn ward Alasdair MacPherson meanwhile simply commented “brilliant”.
