Food and Drink Festival returns to Cardiff Bay for first time in three years

The much-loved foodie event, Cardiff Food and Drink Festival, is making its return to Roald Dahl Plass in Cardiff Bay on the first weekend of July this year.

After being sorely missed in person for the last two years, this marks the festival's first event back at its original location since the start of the pandemic and, with that in mind, it is sure to be a whole-hearted hit with people from all over the country.

The free event will begin at noon on Friday, 1 July - and run until 10pm - until Sunday, 3 July (11am-10pm) and is set to host over 100 delectable food and drink stalls.

With some regular showstopping vendors making an appearance, alongside some new faces - including SamosaCo, Gwynt y Ddraig Cider - from Llantwit Fardre, The Mighty Softshell Crab, Old Bakery Gin, the Pembrokeshire Chilli Farm and Keralan Karavan - offering a spectacular range of local and international delicacies, as well as fresh produce, marinades and dips to take home with you, come rain or shine it'll be a scrumptious celebration of the finest food you cannot miss.

And with a full programme of live music to keep the party moving along across the three days, the atmosphere is going to be electric.

“The Food and Drink Festival is always something to look forward to and has been since it started more than 20 years ago,” said the council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Parks and Events, Jennifer Burke-Davies.

“We have a host of amazing events planned for the summer which all bring a smile to people’s faces. But this is also a key part of Cardiff’s economy and we’re expecting thousands of people to come along over the course of the three days and enjoy what’s on offer.”
