Florida Priest Removed for Alleged 'Sexual Misconduct' as Diocese Bans Clergy Online Dating Apps

A Florida priest has been removed from his parish after the Diocese of Palm Beach found sufficient information to substantiate allegations of sexual misconduct, abuse of authority and financial malfeasance against the Rev. Alex J. Vargas of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Boynton Beach.

The announcement came in a letter dated 5 September from Bishop Manuel Rodríguez, who said an independent investigation found insufficient information to substantiate an allegation of sexual abuse of a minor but enough to substantiate other serious allegations.
