Fans can’t get enough of the camaraderie between co-stars Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield.
The pair are currently doing press for their forthcoming film We Live In Time, which sees the actors play a couple in a time-hopping romance film which spans their chance meeting, falling in love, having a child and a cancer diagnosis.
Pugh, 28, and Garfield, 41, have been all smiles as they gave interviews and appeared at screenings promoting the film, which has received positive early reviews from audiences who were brought to tears by the emotional storyline.
While preparing for We Live In Time, it appears the pair have become close friends with fans picking up on their close rapport and inside jokes.
“Find someone who looks at you the way Florence Pugh looks at Andrew Garfield,” one person wrote on Twitter/X alongside a photograph of the duo at an A24 screening for the film.
At a separate event, Pugh appeared on stage singing the praises of her co-star. “Well I wouldn’t have been able to do any of the stuff without the safety that this man had for me,” the Dune star said of Garfield who was standing next to her.
Garfield was full of similar affection for Pugh. Speaking about his first time seeing the Oscar-nominated actor in 2016’s Lady Macbeth, he said: “It was like seeing this ball of life, this kind of life force, this vital... I don’t know, primal energy on screen.”
The actors have also been praised by fans for their humorous response to the meme that emerged about the goofy-looking horse seen in the film’s promotional materials.
Last month, the first images of We Live In Time were released, in which Pugh and Garfield’s characters were seen laughing together on a carousel. Fans, however, quickly noticed the strange-looking horse next to them.

In a joint interview for AP Entertainment, which was filmed and shared on X by the outlet, the actors discussed the meme fondly. Pugh went so far as to even imitate the animal’s bizarre expression.
“Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh’s playful debate about the viral horse adds a fun twist,” wrote one person on X/Twitter.

Elsewhere in the interview, Pugh asks Garfield what he has on his phone, to which the Spider-Man actor responds: “Just lots of d*** pics. My own. Cut this out.”
Responding to the joke, Pugh says: “I didn’t know you could do press like this. I didn’t know you could say something outrageous and be like, ‘Cut.’ What’s worse is they’re next to your horse pics.”
“Yeah, it does look like the ratio is off,” he quips, prompting Pugh to urge the writer not to cut the funny moment from the interview.

“Did you just hear our publicists sigh? Please don’t cut this. Let him be punished. He’ll never do it again,” said the Little Woman star, to which Garfield replied: “I will, that’s the problem. I’m insatiable when it comes to stupidity.”
Sharing a transcript of the moment on X/Twitter, one person said: “Please cast Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh in more movies together. I’m obsessed with this duo.”
We Live in Time stars Pugh and Garfield as Almut and Tobias who are brought together by a surprise encounter. Told in non-chronological order, the film unravels their unconventional love story.
The film is slated for theatrical release on 1 January 2025.
