Flo Rida says it's a 'miracle' his six-year-old son survived fall from fifth-floor window

Flo Rida has updated fans on his son's condition after the six-year-old suffered "serious injuries" when he fell from the window of a fifth-floor apartment.

The 43-year-old rapper took to his Instagram Story on Thursday to thank fans for sharing their concern after his son, Zohar Dillard, was rushed to hospital.

"Great day, thank you to everyone who reached out with their concerns and prayers for my son," he wrote.

The musician, whose real name is Tramar Lacel Dillard, added that Zohar "is getting the best medical care and miraculously survived a tragic fall."

Flo Rida asked his fans for their "continued prayers" as his son "undergoes rehabilitation".

Zohar was left with fractures in his pelvis and left foot and also suffered a lacerated liver, collapsed lungs and internal bleeding following the incident which happened in New Jersey.

In a statement, Zohar's mother Alexis Adams said she has been left "heartbroken" by the incident, which occurred on March 4.

"As a single mom to a special needs child, this feels like a nightmare. My heart is broken into a million pieces.

"I am devastated, angry and struggling to come to terms with the fact that my only child has suffered severe injuries due to wilful negligence of our landlord and others involved In failing to take necessary safety measures," she told News12 New Jersey.

Alexis filed a civil lawsuit on Monday against the people she claims are responsible for the fall.

The defendants include a construction company, a window installation company and the apartment's owners and managers.

Alexis claims the Jersey City building had been equipped with windows that "posed a hazardous condition," causing her son to fall "to the concrete pavement below."

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Flo Rida is not a plaintiff in the lawsuit.

Alexis is seeking damages, attorney's fees and payment of Zohar's medical bills.
