A Delhi consumer commission has held Flipkart Internet Private Limited guilty of deficiency in service and unfair trade practice after a customer received bars of soap instead of a mobile phone ordered through the e-commerce platform. The Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission-X directed the company to pay Rs 10,574, the price of the phone, with 7% annual interest, along with Rs 5,000 as compensation for mental harassment and another Rs 5,000 towards litigation expenses. The order was passed on September 18, 2026, by a bench comprising president Monika Aggarwal Srivastava and members Dr Rajender Dhar and Ritu Garodia.
