Fleur East’s husband made a cheeky dig at Vito Coppola as he weighed in on the Strictly curse.
Marcel, from Senegal, appeared on Hits Radio Breakfast Show where he was due to speak about last night’s football which saw England beat his team 3 – 0 to progress to the World Cup quarter finals.
However, the conversation soon turned to his wife's current stint on Strictly Come Dancing.
Marcel was being quizzed on whether the tournament had helped take his mind off his wife spending so much time dancing with Vito.
He replied: "I’m not worried, you don’t go to McDonald’s when you have burger at home!"

Fleur East, who hosts the radio show, also gave listeners the lowdown on this weekend’s Strictly which took place on Friday night instead of its usual Saturday as the BBC changed its schedule around to accommodate events in Qatar.
She said: "It was really weird and felt very odd, just so strange. And half of my friends didn’t even realise that Strictly was on, on Friday and they were messaging saying 'good luck for tomorrow!' and I was like 'oh guys it’s tonight!'
"It was the most nervous Vito and I had been standing there waiting to hear the results. I wear a ring on my pinkie finger that’s made from my dad’s ring after he passed away, and I always hold it when it comes to results night and before we perform.
"For the first time ever, Vito was standing with me, and he held it. He felt really emotional and as soon as Tess called our names out, we were so grateful it felt amazing."
Fleur and Vito have managed to make it through to the semi-finals which, in another football enforced change to the TV schedules, will see Strictly take place on Sunday this weekend.
Fleur added: "I’m finding out today what my brand-new dances are, and we’ve got two this week for the semi-final. I’m stressed enough doing one let alone two and even though we’ve got an extra day this week the pressure is on."
The singer has previously spoken about how difficult it is taking part in the dance show.
Speaking on Greatest Hits Radio she told radio host Jackie Brambles that she has been surprised by the difficulty.
She said: "It's been a lot more physically and emotionally challenging than I thought. The amount of times I've cried when people have left the competition. You get so close to everybody and muscles have ached that I didn't even know could ache".
