A rare considerable flash flood warning has been issued for more than 2.5 million people in Florida, including the cities of Orlando, Deltona, and Daytona Beach. The warning comes as between 5 and 9 inches of rain have already fallen, with the potential for an additional 3 to 6 inches in the warned area, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has cautioned that flash flooding is either ongoing or expected to begin shortly. This warning falls under the second out of three flash flood warning levels, indicating that flash flooding of unusual severity or impact is imminent or already occurring, requiring urgent action to protect lives and property.
