FIVE people have been taken to hospital following a “serious” two-car collision in Dumfries and Galloway.
Emergency services were called to the report of a crash on the A75, near Gretna, at around 11.10am on Monday.
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed it had sent a “number of resources” to the scene.
Traffic Scotland has posted an update saying the A75 has remained closed in both directions due to a “serious collision”.
According to reports five people have been taken to hospital for treatment.
The conditions of the five people are currently unknown. Police Scotland have reportedly said enquiries into the collision are ongoing and advised drivers to avoid the area although diversions are in place.
Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
