Five drug peddlers arrested with 34 gms of heroin in Jammu

JAMMU: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by arresting five drug peddlers in two separate incidents - and recovered 34 grams of heroin i.e 28 grams of heroin besides cash Rs 21560 from three peddlers under jurisdiction of PS Gandhi Nagar and 06 grams of heroin from two peddlers under jurisdiction of P/S Miran Sahib.

Police said, "A police team of P/S Gandhi Nagar led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma while on patrolling duty rounded up three suspects who were coming on their Creta car (JK02DC-9666)."

"During search 28 grams of heroin and cash Rs 21560 was recovered from their possession and a weighing machine and one used roll of Aluminium foil were recovered from their possession."

Police said, "The trio has been identified as Rashpal Singh (Driver) son of Pritam Singh of Gadi Garh Jammu ( alongwith 24 gms of heroin); Satvir Singh son of Tarlok Singh of Phinder- R S Pura Jammu (caught with 02 grams of heroin) and Deepak Bhagat son of Ganesh Bhagat of 35 Talab Tillo Poonch House Jammu (caught with 02 grams of heroin)."

"The accused were arrested on the spot and a case vide FIR No. 84/2023 u/s NDPS Act got registered at P/S Gandhi Nagar and further investigations are on," police added.

In another incident police team from P/S MIran Sahib led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna during patrolling at Maralian Morh, Miran Sahib rounded up two suspects coming from Kotli Mian Fateh towards Miran Sahib.

"During their frisking, police recovered 06 grams of heroin and thus arrested the accused who disclosed their identity as Manpreet Singh @ Nikka Jinda son of Mohinder Singh and Manjot Singh @ Shalu son of Daljeet Singh both residents of R S Pura Jammu," police added

"A Case vide FIR No 79/2023 u/s NDPS Act stand registered at PS Miran Sahib and investigations are on." Police said, "Jammu police is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain."
