A teenage girl who died suddenly in Uddingston has been named locally as Taylor Malcolm.
Police were called after the 15-year-old passed away near Union Way in the South Lanarkshire town at 8.30am on Saturday, April 22. Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
Tributes have poured in for the young Celtic fan as devastated family members described her as a "beautiful young girl". It is understood to be the second tragedy that her family has suffered after the loss of her big sister Rhiannon in 2019.
Her uncle Kristofer Weir wrote: "Well Taylor what can I say, I just can't believe I am having to write this. I love you, always will, please please please give your daddy the strength.
"I know your sister is there buzzing to see you, until we meet again. Your Uncle Kristofer is broken, I promise to look after your dad, love and miss you hen, sleep tight."
Gemma Rundle said: "I was hoping it was all a bad dream. My heart is broken, you beautiful angel were far too good for this world. I just know you're with Rhiannon again.
"You will be sorely missed, I loved watching you grow up into the most beautiful young girl, wish you knew how loved you are. Rhiannon, look after our sweet girl."
Nadine Malcolm wrote: "Life is so cruel, don’t take anything for granted ever! Rest easy beautiful girl. Taken far too soon from us all, we all know you're with Rhiannon now and she’ll be looking after you for us. I wish you knew how loved you were!"
Family friend Jammy Hayes has started a fundraiser to help Taylor's family pay for her funeral.
He said: "Taylor was a beautiful young girl who was so kind to everyone she met.
"I am asking everyone I know if they would like to help Taylor’s family at this very sad time and to show that we are there for them. Taylor you will be sorely missed god bless."
