THE opening date for Glasgow's brand-new Virgin Hotel has been revealed as pictures give a first look inside.
The luxury hotel brand, from Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, will open the doors of its second European property Virgin Hotels Glasgow to the public tomorrow on Friday, August 18.
The Clyde Street hotel, which is set upon the banks of the river, pays homage to Glasgow's rich cultural history of shipbuilding in its design and is now accepting hotel and restaurant bookings.
The launch sees the opening of modern dining and drinking venues including Virgin Hotels' flagship restaurant and bar Commons Club and Highyard.
Led by executive chef Jean-Paul Giraud, who was previously head chef at The Spanish Butcher, Commons Club's restaurant menu draws inspiration from around the world, while the bar serves a selection of playful, signature cocktails as well as a range of whiskies, liquors beer and wine.
All-day dining and entertainment destination Highyard will be located on the Mezzanine level of Commons Club.
The location offers breathtaking views of the River Clyde from its terrace and with its retractable roof is designed to become a go-to spot for the city's social scene.
The hotel also offers a variety of state-of-the-art meeting and event spaces.
The bedrooms feature Virgin Hotels’ patented ergonomically designed bed with a channel-tufted headboard, Hypnos mattress, a red SMEG mini-fridge generously stocked with local products, plugs in all the convenient places, a HD TV and a yoga mat.

Virgin Hotels Glasgow follows the success of Virgin Hotels Edinburgh which officially opened in March this year.
Next year will see the opening of two further dining and drinking spaces at the Glasgow hotel; Funny Library Coffee Shop and luxurious whisky bar Rocks on Fox Street.
