The first local election results have been announced in Dundee with four wards completing their counts.
The main news is that City Council Leader John Alexander was re-elected in the Strathmartine Ward with 2143 first preference votes.
Labour’s Kevin Keenan was also chosen with 1359 votes.
The other two elected councillors were Lib Dem Daniel Coleman with 1116 votes and the SNP’s Stewart Hunter with 559.
The electorate for the ward is 15,266 and the turnout was 40.1%
The second ward to complete its count was Lochee with an electorate of 14,912 and a turnout of 40.4%
The newly elected councillors were Labour’s Charlie Malone and Wendy Scullin and the SNP’s Siobhan Tolland and Roisin Smith.
The third ward to finish their count was West End with an electorate of 14,626 and a turnout of 39.9%.
The SNP’s Bill Campbell and Nadia El-Nakla were selected alongside the Lib Dems Michael Crichton and Fraser Macpherson.
Ward Four - Coldside - had a turnout of 39.1% of an electorate of 14,893.
Here, the SNP’s Heather Anderson and Mark Flynn were elected alongside Labour’s George Mcirvine and Helen Wright.
