FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a blaze which broke out in an open area at a country park in Fife.
The gorse fire was reported at the popular Lochore Meadows park on Monday evening.
At the height of the fire between 20 and 30 square metres of ground was ablaze.
Images on social media showed large flames and smoke emerging from an area near a loch.
The blaze started on the far side of the loch, away from the visitor centre and car park.
There were no reported injuries.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We received the first of several calls at 7.39pm reporting a large gorse fire at Lochore Meadows Country Park.
“One appliance was sent from Lochgelly station, with a second despatched a short time after.
“Both crews remained at the scene at 10pm however the fire has now been extinguished and the stop call was given at 9.39pm.
“There were no reported injuries.”
