Firefighters worked through the night to tackle a blaze at a garage.
The blaze broke out at the building on Worsley Road, on the border of Farnworth and Walkden, at around 1am this morning (Friday). Five fire engines were scrambled to the scene.
People were urged to avoid the area and those living nearby were told to keep their windows and doors shut due to the smoke. Crews worked through the night to extinguish the blaze.

They then dampened down and carried out safety checks on the building. Pictures taken at the scene this morning show the roof of a garage left badly damaged.
Fire crews left the scene at around 6.30am. A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: "Just before 1am this morning (Friday, 7 July), firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a commercial building on Worsley Road in Bolton.
“Five fire engines from Bolton Central, Bolton North, Horwich and Farnworth fire stations, as well as the aerial ladder platform from Bolton Central fire station, quickly arrived at the scene.
“Firefighters used three hose reels and six breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. After dampening down and carrying out safety checks to the building, crews left the scene at around 6:30am.”
