A video has emerged of a van engulfed in flames on a quiet Scots street. The early morning blaze broke out on Claret Road in Grangemouth, near Falkirk, at around 5.40 on Tuesday, September 20.
The short clip shows smoke billowing from the stricken delivery vehicle while fire pours out from the cab. Debris that has caught fire is also littered around the van on the road suggesting a minor explosion had taken place.
The cause of the fire is not currently known but it’s understood that emergency services arrived at the scene a short time later.
Local reports suggest the road was closed while fire crews tackled the blaze before leaving the area.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.40am on Tuesday, September 20 to reports of a van on fire at Claret Road, Grangemouth.
“Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting one van. There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
Police Scotland confirmed they assisted the SFRS.
