At least 13 people were killed and more than 40 others injured in a fire at a pub in Sattahip district.

The blaze started about 1am as people were packing Mountain B pub.

Footage showed people running for safety and screaming following the blaze, and some were seen running with their bodies engulfed in flames.

INN News reported that nine men and four women died in the fire. Rescuers reported that 41 people were injured.

Officers at Phlu Ta Luang police station arrived at the site after receiving reports of the fire.

Police said all victims up to now were Thai nationals.

Eyewitnesses said they heard two explosions near the DJ's booth and saw sparks that ignited soundproofing foam, and the fire spread quickly.

The pub opened about a month ago and is popular with young people. Mountain B covers more than three rai of land and is located on Sukhumvit Road in Sattahip district.
