Film show: France's Quentin Dupieux spins an 'Incredible but True' story

ENCORE! © FRANCE 24

Iconoclastic filmmaker Quentin Dupieux has made a name for himself thanks to his off-the-wall comedies, which transpose his deeply absurd sensibilities to ordinary settings in contemporary France. Film critic Lisa Nesselson tells us why people should go and see his tenth feature "Incredible But True" with no prior knowledge of the story and a keen sense of humour.

We also take a look back at the career of singular filmmaker Claire Denis, as her 1999 classic "Beau Travail" is re-released. Her latest film "Stars at Noon" won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival.

And we check in with France's premier showcase of animated features, as the Annecy festival kicks off its 46th edition with the world premiere of the latest "Minions" film.
