A film studio could soon be coming to a Prescot business park under plans currently being discussed.
The proposals involve transforming a 2,300sq m former office space in Knowsley Business Park into a film and production centre.
The centre would include a green screen area and a photography studio and be based at Overbrook Lane in Prescot, according to documents submitted to Knowsley council last month.

The applicant, Eric Wright Group, which lease the business park from the council, is currently “in discussion” with an unnamed film and production company who have expressed an interest in bringing a production facility to the site.
As part of those negotiations, the Preston based construction company is requesting permission for a change of use under ‘certificate of lawfulness.’
This means full planning application would not need to be submitted and the change of use would be allowed under existing planning permissions if accepted by Knowsley Council.
The documents state that as well as the green screen area and photography studio, there would also be changing rooms, production offices and a canteen at the site.
The application, which was validated by Knowsley Council last week, is now open to comments before officers decide whether the certificate of lawfulness can be granted or not.
If permission is granted, Prescot could soon find itself home to a new film and production studio.
