EA Sports has officially announced the start date for the FIFA 23 FUT Ones to Watch promo, but with some slight changes.
FIFA 23 is now available for players who have pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition or are subscribed to EA Play. Players can also access the game through the FIFA 23 FUT Web App and Companion App, both having launched last week. Only limited features are available in the Web and Companion App, so you'll need to login on a console or PC for the best Ultimate Team experience.
The Ones to Watch promo tends to be the first major promo released into FUT following the launch of the new game. The promo rewards newly-transferred players with a special player item that can update throughout FUT based on real-life performances.
And now, in EA Sports' latest Pitch Notes, the Ones to Watch promo release has been confirmed as Friday, September 30, 2022 - the worldwide release day for FIFA 23. There is no confirmed time for when the promo will drop in-game, but further down in the Pitch Notes, it's stated that pack content will update at 18:00 BST.
It was also announced that in FIFA 23, the Ones to Watch promo will be shortened from two weeks to one in order to accommodate the FIFA 23 World Cup plans. This means that on Friday, September 30th, 2022 the OTW Main Team will be released, and from Sunday, October 2, 2022, a mini release will join the main team.
Players who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition will receive an untradable OTW item from September 30th. The OTW item you receive will be based on when you open your pack, per the below dates:
- September 30th - October 2nd OTW Main Team Only
- October 2nd onwards OTW Main Team & Mini Release
OTW items receive a boost to their card every time that player is included in a FIFA 23 Team of the Week (TOTW) squad, or when they receive a MOTM player item. EA has also updated the "Wins to Watch" requirements, with OTW players needing their team to win three of their next eight domestic league games to earn a one-time upgrade, starting from Friday, September 30.
OTW player items can also upgrade during the 2022 FIFA World Cup through the new upgrade opportunity, "Nations to Watch". Ones to Watch items will be eligible for a one-off In-Form upgrade if their nation wins a game at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, regardless if the player was involved or was even picked for the squad.
