EA Sports has officially revealed the FIFA 22 Team of the Year Final XI, featuring Lionel Messi, but no Mohamed Salah or Cristiano Ronaldo.
The FIFA 22 TOTY Final XI was confirmed by EA Sports FIFA on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 15:30 PM BST, following the conclusion of a TOTY fan vote, in which FUT players were able to vote for a TOTY Final XI from 80 TOTY nominees. Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski lead the FIFA 22 TOTY Final XI, with both players given 98-rated FUT TOTY player items. Three other FUT TOTY player items are rated at 97, with three at 96, one at 95, one at 94 and one at 93.

Messi's club teammate Kylian Mbappe is also named in the FIFA 22 TOTY Final XI ahead of Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, which is a big surprise for many, following the Egyptian's phenomenal 2021. The Frenchman has been awarded a 97-rated FUT TOTY Final XI item.
In total, five PSG players feature in the FIFA 22 TOTY Final XI, with Manchester City having three players featured, whilst Champions League winners Chelsea have two players included in the FIFA 22 TOTY Final XI.

But at the moment, EA Sports has revealed the FIFA 22 TOTY Final XI without full stats, these are expected to be revealed over the next few days.
EA Sports' FIFA 22 TOTY fan vote ended on Tuesday, January 18 2022 at 7:59 am GMT, having first opened on Monday, January 10 2022 at 16:00 pm GMT, with fans able to vote for a TOTY from 80 TOTY nominees including Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah, Robert Lewandowski and many more.

When the Ultimate TOTY is released, the players are normally released in position order, with the attackers entering FUT 22 first, followed by the midfielders and defenders, all given two days each in packs. But, it remains to be seen if this format will be followed again for FIFA 22.
In the terms and conditions of the EA Sports FIFA fan vote, there was a line that read "The final Team of the Year selection will be determined by community votes with possible input from EA", so players have been debating about the exact weight that the fan vote will have on the final FIFA 22 TOTY selection.
