
The first College Football Playoff semifinal game delivered. Miami quarterback Carson Beck found a hole and ran for a three-yard game-winning touchdown in the final seconds as the No. 10 Hurricanes held off the No. 6 Mississippi Rebels, 31–27, in the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday night at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. The Hurricanes advance to the national championship game, which will be held at their home stadium, Hard Rock Stadium, on Jan. 19. They await the winner of Friday’s Peach Bowl, No. 5 Oregon vs. No. 1 Indiana.
