Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has voted to re-classify the new Batman movie a 15A meaning younger fans can go as long as they have an adult with them.
A Council spokesman confirmed the move, saying: “At Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Environmental Services Committee Meeting held on 6 April 2022 the Council voted, subject to legal advice, to create a new classification rating of ‘15A’ for the broadcast of ‘The Batman’ film in cinemas within the Council District.”
The Committee voted against a recommendation to refuse reclassification of the new Batman movie by majority, with both Unionist groupings opposed. This led one member to claim: “The UUP and DUP seem to want to ban Batman which is quite extraordinary.”
