Federal safety regulators are telling parents to throw away Girigi magnetic building blocks and cubes immediately after a child swallowed about 50 of the magnets and needed surgery to remove them and repair holes in the small intestine.
There is no refund associated with this warning, and that is the part families need to understand before they look for a claim form. The Chinese seller has not agreed to an acceptable recall, so the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has skipped the usual recall process and gone straight to the public. The instruction is to dispose of the blocks, not to return them, and not to sell or hand them down to anyone else.
