Millions of olive trees in southern Italy are still under threat from Xylella fastidiosa, a bacterium that causes trees to dry out and die, campaigners have warned.
Xylella fastidiosa was first discovered in Puglia in 2013. The outbreak has devastated parts of this area of southern Italy, transforming landscapes and destroying family olive groves that have been passed down through generations.
