FC 26 is getting a significant boost with the version 1.2.0 update. This patch brings a host of gameplay tweaks, bug fixes, and user interface enhancements designed to polish the overall experience across all game modes, from Ultimate Team to Career Mode and Clubs.

The update has addressed attack, defense, and goalkeeping, and the new patch will enhance gameplay realism and further polish the user interface, responding directly to community feedback. Having said that, here’s a complete rundown of the FC 26 version 1.2.0 patch notes.

Attack, defense, and goalkeeping enhancements

The attacking gameplay in FC 26 has been refined for more responsive and realistic play. Acrobatic shots following flicks are now less accurate, encouraging more strategic strikes. AI teammates are programmed to make smarter attacking runs into the box, providing better support during offensive plays.

Strikers will more reliably back up counterattacks, while wingers keep pressure by moving into open space rather than dropping back unintentionally.

Defensive AI has also been updated to feel more balanced and intelligent. Defenders now mark attackers more realistically around the box edge, and man-marking during short corners is tighter. Passing mechanics, including through balls and crossings, now better respect player aim inputs, reducing frustrating mis-passes.

Goalkeepers are smarter in this patch, with improved decision-making on catching or punching crosses and better judgment when dribblers are in close proximity. Overcommitting to one side on far-post shots has been addressed, along with fixes to goalkeeper behavior when controlled by the CPU.

The remapping of controls no longer disrupts default goalkeeper inputs, though a minor visual bug on the UI remains.

Key fixes and gameplay polish

Several gameplay bugs have been addressed to improve fluidity and fairness. The Player Indicator now displays consistently, and player switching is more accurate in critical moments.

Referee foul logic has been fine-tuned, particularly for contact from behind, while weird animation glitches, such as unnecessary sliding shots or overly distant shield requests, have been fixed. Rare issues with ball deflections passing through goalkeepers and unresponsive players during key plays have also been resolved.

Ultimate Team Evolutions and UI updates

Ultimate Team players will appreciate the addition of a filtered Evolution menu that clearly shows which progressions are available for each Player Item. This feature will be enabled via a server release shortly after the update. Additionally, several UI bugs and text overlaps in Evolutions and Objectives menus have been squashed, improving navigation and readability.

Pack opening animations have been optimized to reduce occurrences of lower-rated players appearing when higher-rated ones are available. Other fixes include leaderboard display corrections, Rush match ping indicators, and visual cleanups within the FC Hub and offline Ultimate Draft modes.

Clubs improvements

Clubs mode receives visual and matchmaking refinements, including the ability to showcase Goalkeeper Archetype details during Rush introductions. A new option lets players reduce on-screen player indicators to either “Local Player & Teammates Only” or “Local Player Only,” minimizing HUD clutter.

Matchmaking issues causing position mismatches, lobby errors, and unintended quick match starts have been corrected. AI goalkeepers now dive reliably on penalties, and the Clubs Coin UI presents accurate numbers under all conditions.

Injury tracking and contract fixes in Career Mode

Career Mode sees major usability upgrades, such as a new injury banner that details duration, cause, and severity while managing squads. Players can now save their preferred default kit selections for match days, and the Deep Simulation startup prompt is more informative when leagues aren’t selected.

Contract behavior has been updated to prevent premature or repeated renewal requests, and youth player signings work more reliably even with changing budgets. Presentation issues, such as exaggerated player facial features and unclear button prompts in HDR mode, have been addressed, creating a more polished career experience.

General stability, visuals, and audio updates

FC 26 1.2.0 improves visual and audio elements across the board. Rewards in the Season Pass Bundle now display thumbnails for easier preview, and PC players benefit from clearer render scale settings. Updated player portraits, stadium banners, kits, and commentary enhance immersion and consistency.

The patch also fixes stability issues, cinematic camera angles, and end-of-match rating displays. Users on platforms like Switch will encounter fewer lingering UI tutorials or access issues in Team Management during online friendlies.
