DOJ launches civil rights probe into Alex Pretti’s death

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the Department of Justice launched a federal civil rights investigation into the shooting of Alex Pretti.

Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse in Minnesota, was killed Saturday by Border Patrol officers. “We’re looking at everything that would shed light on what happened that day and in the days and weeks leading up to what happened,” Blanche said on Friday.
