Houston Police Department Chief, Troy Finner, has shed light on how the department handles information provided by the FBI regarding individuals with mental health issues and criminal backgrounds attempting to purchase weapons. During a recent press conference, Chief Finner explained the process and the subsequent actions taken by local law enforcement.

In response to a query about the FBI's involvement in such cases, Chief Finner stated that once the FBI receives information about an individual attempting to purchase weapons despite having a history of mental health problems and a criminal record, the information is promptly shared with local law enforcement partners. This collaborative approach allows for a comprehensive and coordinated response to address potential threats in the community.
