The FBI announced on Sunday that they are still offering a reward of up to $1 million for any information that could lead to the safe return of American journalist Austin Tice. Tice has been missing since he was detained in Damascus in August 2012 during the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.
With the recent collapse of the Assad regime, the FBI is renewing its call for information that could help locate, recover, and bring Tice back safely. President Joe Biden also mentioned Tice in his remarks on Sunday, acknowledging the long period of captivity Tice has endured.
President Biden stated, “We are mindful that there are Americans in Syria, including those who reside there. As well as Austin Tice, who was taken captive more than 12 years ago. We remain committed to returning him to his family.”
The ongoing efforts to find Austin Tice highlight the importance of international cooperation and support in resolving cases of missing individuals. The FBI's reward offer serves as an incentive for anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in bringing Tice back home.
