FBI Director Reveals Details Of Explosive Devices In Assassination Attempt

A picture and its story: The Slovak assassination attempt photo that nearly got away

FBI Director Christopher Wray revealed new information regarding the explosive devices discovered in Thomas Matthew Crooks' car and residence during his testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. The focus of the inquiry was on the FBI's investigation into Crooks' attempted assassination of former President Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Wray informed lawmakers that the FBI uncovered three 'relatively crude' devices in Crooks' possession, which were designed for remote detonation. Although the size of the detonator was not specified, Wray mentioned that Crooks managed to carry it onto the rooftop along with his rifle.

Furthermore, Wray explained that the state of the on-off switch on the detonator suggested that the bombs would not have functioned if Crooks had tried to activate them after opening fire on Trump.
