The father of Brendan Og 'Ogie' Duffy has been hailed as a 'lovely man' after his 'beautiful interview' this morning.
'Ogie's father Brendan was on Today with Claire Byrne as he spoke about his new book Ómós d'Ógie and the death of his son.
In the poignant interview, Brendan said that he is still dealing with the emotions after his son's untimely death last year.
He said of writing the book: "It gave me the opportunity to shed a tear. I suppose society doesn't allow us to shed a tear.
"We are always concealing tears be it from our peers or our work colleagues or from children but I think there should be some space there to shed a tear.
"I talked to myself and said I must give myself half a day over the summer to shed a tear and let it happen. I think everybody should allow themselves space to grieve."
And Brendan was hailed for his interview with one listener saying: "He's a people person. Lovely man"
While another added: "Very proud father, heartbreaking May his beautiful son shine down on him and give him strength. So sad."
And another said: "Beautifully conducted interview with Brendan Og (Ogie)'s dad"
