"Fat and happy" Paddy Pimblett scoffs entire pizza after first-round UFC win

Paddy Pimblett wolfed down a whole pizza during his press conference following his win over Rodrigo Vargas at UFC London.

The Liverpool lightweight choked out Vargas in the first round at The O2 on Saturday night to maintain his perfect start in the promotion.

And after cutting down from almost 200lb to the lightweight limit of 155lb, he immediately set about piling the pounds back on as he faced the press.

Pimblett was handed a pizza by fellow Scouser Molly McCann who had enjoyed her own stunning success earlier in the night when she knocked out Luana Carolina with a spinning elbow.

And he enjoyed every slice as he basked in his glory.

"I'd rather be fat and happy than ripped," he said. "These people who are ripped all year round are not happy, I don't care what they say.

"This six-pack is sound, I look great but I'd rather be fat and happy."

Pimblett also had a message for Ilia Topuria with whom he had a backstage clash during fight week.

Topuria enjoyed his own stoppage victory as he dismissed Brit Jai Herbert.

"I give him his dues. It was a good knockout, especially after taking that headkick in the first round," Pimblett added.

"But if I hit him with that headkick he's getting knocked out."

In the main event, Tom Aspinall submitted Alexander Volkov to cap off a successful night for the home contingent.

Arnold Allen stopped Dan Hooker in the first round as the New Zealander's featherweight debut ended in disaster.

And Scotand's Paul Craig produced another come-from-behind victory when he withstood some early punishment from Nikita Krylov before submitting the Ukrainian.
