Rumours of a potential Ibrox exit for Rangers star Fashion Sakala have been quashed by German side St Pauli.
The Hamburg-based outfit were linked with a move to take the Zambian away from the Light Blues despite Alfredo Morelos' exit, but with Sam Lammers being announced in a £3.5million deal from Atalanta alongside a move for Cremonese star Cyriel Dessers having the wheels in motion, a possible sale for Sakala didn't seem quite so unfathomable.
However, St Pauli - who failed to go up yet again from the German second-tier with a fifth-placed finish - have quickly moved to snub the idea of a transfer, with sporting director Andreas Bornemann ruling out a deal.

"Speculation is part of the game. There is a lot going on in the football rumour mill these days," he began.
"It's amazing what's supposedly going on! In fact, we've had a few wild topics recently. For example, just because we had previously looked to the UK for Jackson Irvine and Oladapo Afolayan, people now suspect links there more often.
"It's true that during this period, agents increasingly contact us and offer us players, but we prefer to search ourselves."
Sakala became a key player in the Michael Beale era, scoring seven goals and registering seven assists before the top-six split, in which he registered an impressive four goals in five games to cap off a superb individual season.
