Farmland fire: Bavla unit fined Rs 1.8 crore

AHMEDABAD GPCB Pollution

AHMEDABAD: After the state pollution control board began remedial measures of a private farmland of Rasam village, another private farmland in Bavla taluka with similar issues has come to light.

Tonnes of industrial waste was dumped on this farmland in Bagodara (Bavla taluka). On March 22, the waste caught fire, and toxic smoke billowed out of the farmland.
