Fantasy football Week 1 injury report: J.K. Dobbins and George Kittle among the top players to monitor

Injuries suck, but they are a part of professional sports. Of course, they’re also part of fantasy sports and betting. In both instances they can be the difference between wins and losses on a weekly basis.

The 2022 season is at its earliest stage but that doesn’t mean guys aren’t already banged up. Some players are recovering from 2021 season injuries and others are working their way back from dings suffered during the offseason.

Some key players have appeared on injury reports throughout the week. We’re here to help you keep a tab on all of the important ones ahead of Week 1 of fantasy football.

RB James Robinson - Jacksonville Jaguars

(Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports)

James Robinson is reportedly healthy and available to play after suffering a season-ending Achilles tear in December of 2021.

RB J.K. Dobbins - Baltimore Raves

(Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports)

Dobbins tore his ACL last preseason, forcing him to miss the entire 2021 regular season. He’s listed as questionable to play Week 1 vs. the Jets.

WR Diontae Johnson - Pittsburgh Steelers

(Katie Stratman-USA TODAY Sports)

Diontae Johnson got dinged up his shoulder during the preseason but head coach Mike Tomlin wasn’t concerned with the severity of the injury. Johnson is off of the injury report and will play vs. the Bengals in Week 1.

WR Michael Thomas - New Orleans Saints

Thomas has been dealing with a hamstring injury and is questionable to play on Sunday, for the first time since January of 2021. He is “progressing,” per NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.

TE George Kittle - San Francisco 49ers

(Dan Powers/USA TODAY NETWORK)

Injuries slowed Kittle a season ago, and that appears to be the case early in the 2022 season. He’s listed as questionable but is reportedly doing what he can to be out on the field for Week 1.

WR Allen Lazard - Green Bay Packers

(AP Photo/Morry Gash)

Lazard is battling through an ankle injury, but is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s opener.

RB Miles Sanders - Philadelphia Eagles

(Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports)

It appears Miles Sanders just needed a little bit of time off to rest his hamstring. He’ll play on Sunday against the Lions.

RB Christian McCaffrey - Carolina Panthers

(AP Photo/Jacob Kupferman)

It’s been a rough last couple of seasons for McCaffrey as far as injuries go, so anytime he pops up on the injury report, it’s a big deal. He showed up on it earlier this week with a shin injury but has been removed. He’ll play Sunday.

WR Drake London - Atlanta Falcons

(Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports)

The rookie wide receiver is questionable to play due to a knee injury.

WR Jaylen Waddle - Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins’ injury report is out and second-year wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is not on it. His quad seems to be fine, so he’ll play in the season opener.
