The Cleveland Browns have concerns at wide receiver after Amari Cooper but have a great running game with a plethora of backs who can make plays. The offensive line provides stability for both the run and pass games while QB Jacoby Brissett is expected to keep the ship steady.
From a fantasy football perspective, there isn’t a lot to love going into the 2022 season. Cooper could be a serviceable second or third receiver but that relies on Brissett playing well and defenses not taking him away.
Nick Chubb is a top back in the NFL but Kareem Hunt, D’Ernest Johnson, Jerome Ford and Demetric Felton could take away some of his fantasy value.
It is in TE David Njoku that upside exists for fantasy football owners. Njoku was rewarded for his physical gifts and the hope of taking a huge step this offseason with a monster contract. Fantasy expert Josh Norris sees the potential in him for fantasy owners:
DAVID NJOKU
Unique player. Explosive downfield – 35% of targets last season were 10+ yards and he’s a YAC threat on TE delays and screens.
7 YAC/rec last year, 4th highest among all TEs.
Now a full-time player with HUGE investment pic.twitter.com/7S1j3D8LCw

Njoku has never had more than 639 yards or four touchdowns in a single season. With Austin Hooper added in free agency in 2020, Njoku’s targets fell to 29 in 13 games that season. Last year saw that number rise to 53 and there is an expectation that it will continue to go up with Hooper now in Tennessee.
On the field, Cleveland needs Njoku to live up to his contract. In fantasy football, owners could get a steal of a player who is rarely drafted in the top 10 or 15 tight ends.
