Fans reminisce over Faithless at T in The Park after tragic death of Maxi Jazz

Faithless fans were left heartbroken after the death of former frontman Maxi Jazz was announced on Christmas Eve.

The singer died aged 65 as Faithless keyboard player Sister Bliss shared that he died 'peacefully in his sleep'. Following the tragic death, fans of the dance group have been taking to social media to pay tribute to the late star.

Taking to Twitter, one fan shared a clip of the group playing at iconic Scottish festival T in The Park 12 years ago. DJ Lewis Wake wrote: "Faithless at T in the Park 2010 weren't headlining that year, but the stand out moment from the festival was this particular performance of Insomnia. This moment is TITP legend. Watch the Scottish crowd erupt. RIP Maxi Jazz"

The clip of Maxi Jazz went viral and at the time of writing has been viewed 191,400 times and retweeted over 400 times. Fans absolutely loved the throwback video from TITP, and took to the comments to respond.

One wrote: "I was in this crowd and it was genuinely one of the best moments that weekend. You didn’t get a choice, as soon as the best dropped you were bouncing."

"Wow! Amazing. Saw them twice in London and on both occasions the crowd went wild, but this is next level," wrote one while someone else said: "The best ever rendition of the best tune of all time. RIP Maxi - gutted. Cheers for sharing btw"

A fourth added: "This is my standout memory of TiTP and faithless, eternally grateful I was there to experience it," as another fan added: "Stunning! Tear in eye watching that!"

Speaking about the festival at the time, the late star said: "There is a quantifiable difference between festivals in Scotland and festivals pretty much anywhere else in the world. The Scots have a kind of this is the last day of my life attitude to partying, which you don’t find everywhere in the world! We can utterly vibe off that.”

This comes after Faithless announced the death of their bandmate - whose real name was Maxwell Fraser - writing on social media: "We are heartbroken to say Maxi Jazz died last night. He was a man who changed our lives in so many ways.

"He gave proper meaning and message to our music. He was a lovely human being with time for everyone and a wisdom that was both profound and accessible. It was an honour and, of course, a true pleasure to work with him.

"He was a brilliant lyricist, a DJ, a Buddhist, a magnificent stage presence, car lover, endless talker, beautiful person, moral compass and genius. Rollo, Sister Bliss & The E-Type Boy x".
