Cricket fans watching Southern Brave take on Manchester Originals have been left in stitches, after spotting a youngster’s rude banner in the Ageas Bowl crowd. Inaugural Hundred champions the Brave were taking on the Originals - captained by England ODI skipper Jos Buttler - in Southampton.
Despite some of the game’s best short-form players being in action, those watching at home had their eyes diverted to a kid in the stands rather than the action at the crease. With the Originals 74/1 after 51 balls, the Sky Sports cameras quickly panned to the Ageas Bowl crowd.
Within the crowd there were plenty of youngsters enjoying themselves at the home of Hampshire, but one caught the eye more than most thanks to a risqué sign.
The young fan’s banner read: “My dad loves De Kock,” of course referencing Brave wicket-keeping batsman and South Africa star Quinton De Kock. Cricket fans watching from home could not believe their eyes, with plenty having a laugh at the banner on social media.
One fan - @carms777 - tweeted: “To the little guy who just had his poster up at #TheHundred2022 reading… My Dad loves De Kock You made my day.” Whilst @abi_slade added: “Absolute best thing I’ve ever seen.”
Other fans watching on were quick to point out that the youngster’s dad may not have been too pleased with the sign in question, as @Ronald452603211 tweeted: “Kid in the crowd at the cricket with a sign. My Dad loves De Kock, bet he’s thrilled about that.” @1AzzaB comically added: “When your uncle makes your sign for the cricket.”
Despite the support of the crowd, De Kock failed to make the mark on the game that he would have wanted, making 21 from 20 deliveries after opening the batting for the Brave in reply to the Originals’ mammoth 188/3 from their 100 balls.

There were a number of starring roles in the visitors’ crushing first innings, unsurprisingly from England star Buttler, who crashed an impressive 68 runs from 42 deliveries after opening the batting alongside fellow international Phil Salt who racked up a quick-fire 38 from 22.
Also in the runs for the Originals was West Indian Andre Russell as the all-rounder smashed an unbeaten 64 of just 23 deliveries, which included six fours and five sixes. They then went on to secure victory after bowling out the reigning champions for 120.
