A packed programme of family friendly events will be coming to Liverpool's Everyman and Playhouse theatres this autumn, including Disney films and interactive drama workshops.
Saturday, October 1 is Disney Day at the Playhouse and will see REEL Tours present screenings of two family favourite films, Encanto (12 noon) and Hocus Pocus (4.30pm). The screening of Enanto will be a special sing-along showing, with families encouraged to come dressed as their favourite character to be in with the chance of winning the prize of best dressed.
The Smartest Giant in Town will be providing families with half-term entertainment at the Playhouse from Tuesday, October 25 to Saturday, October 29. The play is based on the bestselling book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler and tells a heartwarming story of friendship. The story is brought to life in a musical adventure, with early booking encouraged to avoid missing out.

Half term will also see the return of the Everyman's popular drama week from October 24-28. Run by experienced youth theatre directors, the event aims to introduce children aged eight to 11 to a theme for the week, which they will then build on using imaginative storytelling.
On Saturday mornings, the Everyman Street Cafe is home to Mini Maestros, an interactive, multi-sensory music session for children and their parents. The sessions provide an engaging space for children to explore sound and song whilst learning and having fun. The workshops allow children to enjoy percussion, singing and dancing in sessions led by professional musicians.
One of the highlights of the Everyman's calendar, the Rock 'n' Roll panto, will be opening from Friday, November 25. Expect to see sparkling costumes, plenty of plot twists and surprises galore as a talented cast of actor musicians bring Red Riding Hood to life. The show runs up until Saturday, January 14 and there's already limited availability for selected performances.
Nathan Powell, associate director for the Everyman and Playhouse, said: "It's really important for us to find different ways to welcome children and their families into our theatres. The different spaces we have offer a wealth of creative opportunities for children to explore, play and enjoy music and stories.
"It's a real joy to see how magical it can be for the children (and often the grown ups), many of whom are visiting for the first time. A great reminder of why I love my job."
