A North East family have launched a desperate plea to bring their nana home from Turkey after she was rushed to intensive care there while on holiday.
Christine Stockdale was on a two- week trip to Antalya in Turkey with her husband John when she became seriously ill. The 68-year-old, from Marton, was diagnosed with an infection in her gall bladder which then spread to her pancreas.
She is now in intensive care but the treatment is costing £2,000 per day and her family say funds are running out. Back in Teesside, Christine's family are doing everything they can to get her home for the essential healthcare she needs by attempting to raise funds for a £40,000 medically supported flight back to the UK.
