Family land dispute: Karnataka HC upholds partition based on Taluka Surveyor’s report; owners can separately claim encroached portions

The Karnataka High Court, in a recent judgement ended a land dispute case going on since 2003 by upholding the partion of 14 disputed land parcels between the Reddy and Gowramma families based on the Taluka Surveyor’s report. These 14 disputed lands are in Carmelaram Post, Varthur Hobli, Bangalore East Taluk.

Even though the partition was ordered back in 2009 by the Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge, Bengaluru, based on the Taluka Surveyor’s report, the Reddy family argued that the Taluka Surveyor holds a lower rank than a Tahasildar, and a partition based on the Surveyor’s report was legally flawed.
