Falls Road: Woman taken to hospital after two-vehicle collision in West Belfast

A woman has been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle collision in West Belfast on Monday evening.

Emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision in the Falls Road area of the city just before 6pm on February 21.

The woman's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said: "Police attended the scene of a two-vehicle road traffic collision in the Falls Road area of West Belfast this evening (Monday, 21st February).

"The collision between a Ford Mondeo and a Suzuki Splash occurred just before 6pm. One woman was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to her injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

"Enquiries are continuing and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1607 of 21/02/22. A report can be made using the online reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport. Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org."

People Before Profit MLA Gerry Carroll thanked the emergency services for their response to the incident.

Taking to Twitter, he said: "Folks, there has been a car crash on the Falls Road facing the entrance to St Mary’s University.

"Thoughts with everyone involved and best avoid the area if out driving.

"Thanks to all our emergency service workers."
