Falkirk to hold candlelit vigil tonight for the people of Ukraine

A vigil being held in Falkirk tonight in support of the people of Ukraine.

Locals are being asked to gather outside Trinity Church main hall in the town centre at 7pm - with readings, songs and prayers are planned.

Those who are planning to attend are also being encouraged to bring a candle along.

Taking to Facebook, Rev. Robert Allan said: "Join us as we hold a vigil for Ukraine on Thursday 3rd March at 7pm.

"We will meet in the grounds of the Church outside the main hall - bring a safely contained candle if you wish - probably an umbrella too.

"We hope to have readings and songs and prayers and a time of silence as we remember the people of Ukraine.

"It sometimes seems as if we are helpless as we watch our news, however we can persist in prayer and mark our solidarity with the people of Ukraine as many are doing throughout Europe and the wider world.

"Please pass this message on to anyone who may be interested - family, friends, neighbours, colleagues - all are welcome."
