Falcons WR Drake London: ‘I’m ready to be a Dirty Bird’

For the second straight year, the Falcons used a top-10 pick on a pass-catcher. This time, it was USC wide receiver Drake London that got the call. The 6-4 wideout should come into camp as the clear-cut number one option at the position.

When asked by Falcons.com reporter Kris Rhim about what it felt like to be drafted, London said he was happy when he got the call from Flowery Branch.

“My heart was racing like crazy, especially when the phone started ringing and it had a little GA behind it,” stated London. “I was happy.”

His message to Falcons fans was that he’s ready to be a dirty bird and feels this team is moving in the right direction. He was also asked if there had been any sort of indication that the Falcons may make him their top choice.

“Yeah, I had a little indication but they were playing it a little discrete, keeping everything in house. That’s how they roll and they got me.”

“Put the ball anywhere, I’m gonna go get it,” stated London on his style of play. “It’s football at the end of the day, I know I’m gonna get hit but we gotta go get the ball. I think I’m just fearless when I play,”

London and Kyle Pitts should make a formidable duo in Atlanta for years to come. Click here to read what the different NFL analysts wrote about London before the draft.
