The Atlanta Falcons have lost five of seven games since their 2-0 start and they appear to be trending in the wrong direction as we head into the second half of the season.
The team made a quarterback change to Taylor Heinicke going into Week 9, but it wouldn’t be enough for the Falcons to get a win over Josh Dobbs and the Vikings in Week 9.
After the game, fans on Twitter had some strong opinions about head coach Arthur Smith, the quarterback situation and more from Sunday’s loss.
Dang I sure wish Arthur Smith had checked out what Kurt Warner had to say about the offense

Alright. I’m calling it. It’s draft season. Falcons currently at pick 14. pic.twitter.com/vt8ADQ0OsQ

Falcons HC Arthur Smith declined to answer who his starting QB will be next week
Wants to evaluate things first.
Felt Taylor Heinicke gave them some chances.

I don't know how you design a redzone offense without Kyle Pitts and Bijan Robinson. Why spend premium picks on those players if you aren't going to feature them? This has been asked a million times and Arthur Smith still has no answer.

The Falcons are stocked with premium picks and cap space next year.
The roster is in a good place.
It’ll be an attractive job.

Arthur Smith on potentially shifting play-calling:
"Every staff I've been on, you do whatever you can to win. I know these are natural questions, and when you don't win, you've got to stand in there and look at it. It's not an ego thing. You look at everything."

“…look that’s a really good football team. Of course you want to win every game but this is the NFL. You can see the mental resolve, and that's how you stay in games like these” pic.twitter.com/CAgafAd3mX

Thank you @god for not putting the Falcons on primetime television this year, too many eyes on this product of football could set the game back decades

Still don't think it'll happen but Ben Johnson and a franchise qb should be the number one and two priority for the falcons this offseason.

Arthur Smith with multiple redzone plays for Jonnu Smith and making Pitts the blocker is the kind of mismanagement coaches should be stoned for

Did Bijan upset someone in Atlanta?
— Ryan Clark (@Realrclark25) November 5, 2023
As Calais Campbell said postgame, the Falcons have to be fully committed to playing just one good football game next week in Arizona.
But given where the team is now, it makes little sense long-term to not see how Ridder fares as QB1 for the rest of the year.

If the falcons lose to the cardinals next week. AS has to be fired.

So….I’m just gonna say it… I want Ridder back.

Softest schedule in the league fooled me for a bit. This team is bottom-5 in the NFL.

Jonnu Smith reached a top speed of 21.15 mph on his 60-yard touchdown, the 3rd-fastest speed by a tight end as a ball carrier in the NGS era (since 2016).
Smith is the only TE to reach 20+ mph as a ball carrier since the start of last season.#MINvsATL | #DirtyBirds pic.twitter.com/PO2nRfir4b
