Falcons take advantage of Saints’ mistake to draw first blood

The Falcons opened Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints with a promising drive but it stalled out after a facemask penalty. Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed muffed the ensuing punt, though, and Atlanta recovered the ball in the end zone to take a 7-0 first-quarter lead.

Watch as Falcons wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge beats Shaheed to the ball to score the game’s first touchdown, as shared by the team’s Twitter account below.

The Saints have since tied the game up at seven after a touchdown run by tight end/quarterback Taysom Hill.
