The Atlanta Falcons made two major acquisitions over the past week, trading for outside linebacker Matthew Judon and signing safety Justin Simmons. While the Simmons signing hasn’t officially been announced yet, Judon traveled with the team to Saturday’s preseason loss in Baltimore.
The Falcons’ new edge rusher has picked a new uniform number. According to the team website, Judon will wear the No. 15 for Atlanta this season. He currently shares the same number with wide receiver Dylan Drummond. Although, if Drummond makes the 53-man roster, he probably won’t mind switching numbers.

The Falcons lost a close game to the Baltimore Ravens, 13-12, but they sat most of their first- and second-team units. Rookie defensive lineman Ruke Orhorhoro had a sack and wide receiver Chris Blair racked up four catches for a team-leading 91 receiving yards.
The team did not play first-round pick Michael Penix Jr. and according to head coach Raheem Morris, the rookie won’t see the field in the preseason finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars either. Atlanta hosts Jacksonville on Friday at 7:00 p.m. ET from Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
