FC Porto have confirmed that Arsenal have reached an agreement for the transfer of Fabio Vieira on a permanent deal, in a move that will be worth a total of £34 million which includes a potential of £5 million in bonuses.
Porto have released a statement, which translates: “Deal complete for the amount of €40m, and of these, €5m are dependent on the achievement of sports objectives”.
Vieira will be Arsenal's second signing of the 2022 summer transfer window following the acquisition of Marquinhos who has penned a four-year deal at the Emirates.

Vieira certainly raises the floor of the squad but also has the potential to deliver a stellar impact if given opportunities in the first team.
When diving into his specific profile, the Portugal U21 international is a smooth operator between the lines, possessing excellent quality in tight spaces while remaining extremely press resistant to weave out of these situations and draw fouls.
Currently, in the build-up phase and during settled possession, the Gunners set up with two central creators between the lines, tasked with offering creativity and ball carrying and Vieira could comfortably operate both in the right and left half-space.
His versatility is extremely desirable as well as his ability to execute quality with both feet, a trait Mikel Arteta looks for in players as it opens up plenty of avenues when it comes to unpredictability and fluidity.
Vieira will likely feature in pre-season where his aim will be to develop chemistry with surrounding teammates and understand the requirements of the system in place so that he is ready when Premier League action resumes.
